NEW YORK: BP, the giant oil company, said Wednesday that it would replace the head of its Alaskan unit as part of a management overhaul of some of the company's troubled North American operations.
The shake-up in Alaska follows an oil spill last August that was caused by inadequate maintenance of some of its pipelines. The incident led to the temporary shutdown of Prudhoe Bay, the largest U.S. oil field.
